Happy Halloween!

Trunk or treating... does life get any better? I think this is my favorite church activity of the year. I love seeing all the kiddies in their costumes running from car to car with their bags full of candy. We brought Max this year (in costume, of course) as an added attraction to draw in the little ones -- not a single kid was afraid of him! He really is great with them. He sat in the trunk with us most of the night and would hop down for a pet when a little one wanted to get a real handful of fur.

We went as a family of skeletons, even little baby Bohne had a costume! It was a toss up between being skeletons or this beach babe. Haha, JUST kidding. But kudos to that lady.

Seth started his celebrating early as a yellow jacket with the fine lady bees of his team at work.
Max made sure the baby was anatomically correct. Four ribs... because that's as high as he can count.
We made our costumes using freezer paper stencils - the best discovery since Nutella.
Max's costume is from Target. Can't claim that one.
That's a black bean burger for anyone wondering :)
Our friends Nicki, Jonathan, and Adelaide as Salt, Pepper and Paprika from Blue's Clues :)
We gave out glow sticks along with our candy... an attempt to be the popular trunk. I'd say Max was still the bigger hit.
Maternity skeleton shirt stencil for anyone who found this blog looking to copy it! I'd fix the bottom right rib though and move the baby to the left a smudge.
Happy Halloween!

  1. You guys looked awesome! Freezer stenciling really is the best discovery ever, isn't it? You have become quite the pro at it- your shirts turned out perfect! I wish Rivers could play with Max- he now loves petting doggies and giving them kisses, but most dogs run away from him:(
