The month of July has been C-R-A-Z-Y! We started the month celebrating Seth's 26th in Virginia, then drove across the country in our trusty moving truck, stopping to take in the sights and people of Utah, then finished the journey to California to our temporary home in Walnut Creek, where we saw Trent off to his LDS mission to Brazil, found an apartment in San Jose (where we'll soon move) and got Seth started with his new job. Shortly thereafter we learned of the passing of Sarah and Carley's dad, Tim Hill. Shocked and saddened by the news I was on the road again up to Oregon for the beautiful memorial service, and visited my cousin in Bend, and then on to Washington to visit my sister and her darling family. I made the trip back to the Bay Area yesterday and we're entertaining the idea of heading to L.A. for the weekend for our good friends baby to be blessed. The craziest part of all? The average price for a gallon of regular unleaded? $3.70. I think we're broke.

Celebrating his 26th with cheesecake. It was a low-key birthday
with dinner and a movie. The calm before the storm. |

My moving heroes! That sweat was Deserved with a capital D. They moved our
3rd story apartment into the truck in 95 degree 80% humidity weather. We're so
grateful for them... Seth and I could've never done it alone.

I believe this is state sign 20/50 and perhaps the most frustrating of them all! In the last year
we've probably passed it 15 times, but never stopped because we were in a hurry or there was
"too much traffic." We figured we'd get it later... and never did. So here we were leaving the
East Coast for a good long time, and couldn't stop yet again... so you get a look
through the dirty windshield while driving sans Seth and me.

State sign 21/50. And it's worth its weight in gold. We decided to go I-80 back home instead of
the usual I-70 in order to get this new sign. Turns out the tolls on this new route set us back
over $80. Never again. |

When the sun went down each day, Lucas assumed his position on the dash. Here we are
entering Utah. He and Max both get A+'s for their travel-ability. |
 |
While in Provo for 2 days we hiked the Y with Jonelle, Maren, and
Grandpa (who's 80!). I hope I can get up there when I'm his age! |

Group picture of all those that attended Trent's farewell. He'll be serving the
people of Londrina, Brazil and teaching the gospel for the next 2 years. We're
very proud of him! |

Up in Oregon now on a nice hike to Latourelle Falls with Lila, Sophia and
baby Norah. Much to Sophia's delight we found all sorts of berries, flowers, and
spotted slugs. She also got a huge kick out of throwing rocks in the river for Max. |
 |
Max and Sophia palling around at the vista point overlooking the
gorge. We probably spent another hour up here after our hike just
enjoying the rare sunny and clear Portland day! |
 |
Too stinkin' cute not to include! Norah loved crawling all over Max.
He'd move 10 feet to get away and next thing you knew, she was army
crawlin' it in his direction and right back on top! I can't wait for Max
to have his own little baby to entertain :) |
I love reading about your adventures! Your July sounds like mine!! So crazy! And I can't believe it. At 19 weeks I was already totally popped out and wearing all my belly bands and maternity shirts. You and my sister are the same- just so tiny! Congrats again!
